This Lament was written ca. 1628, either by G. B. Fasolo, or F. Manelli. In this edition from the available manuscript by the publisher Cornetto-Verlag, I intend to offer a modern edition, as there is no other one available in the internet. "Lamento di Madama Lucia" belongs to (what is probably) an Opera: "Il Carro di Madama Lucia" (The Madama Lucia's Carnival Float).
This Lamento is of great harmonic beauty. The text is powerful, as so the music transmits.
